Cilantro Mexican Grill was honored to be invited to participate in the Grand Tasting of this year’s Kapalua Wine & Food Festival. The event marks the 30th year of the festival, and organizers chose to highlight the collaboration between Maui chefs and local farmers by pairing them in this showcase event, held at The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua.
Cilantro Mexican Grill owner and chef Paris Nabavi and his team chose to highlight the best of Maui Mexican food, working with fresh watercress and Kula greens supplied by Geoff Haines of Pacific Produce to create a signature dish for the festival. They also served a variation of a favorite item from the Cilantro Grill menu. It was a great day, and we received some lovely compliments, including a mention from food writer Jennifer Heigl in the Daily Blender, who said our showcase dish was “a perfect ceviche tostada” and her favorite of the evening.
